Anna Shine, a successful and popular educator, holds a Master's
degree in Education from Harvard University and a Bachelor's
degree in Psychology from the University of Michigan. Her experience
includes teaching and directing English language programs in
both the United States and Europe. She also developed and directed
the English language program at the prestigious Massachusetts
General Hospital.
Ms. Shine
is British but she has lived in the United States (Hawaii, Kentucky, Michigan,
New York, Massachusetts), Europe (Germany, France, England, Scotland, Wales),
and the South Atlantic Ocean (St. Helena) during the past 20 years. As a result,
she is particularly sensitive to the problems, both linguistic and cultural, that
a foreigner may have. And she knows personally why it is so important to understand
a culture to learn its language.
Ms. Shine brings to NESE a commitment to maintain the best
possible learning environment: one that is always challenging,
enjoyable, and entirely supportive to students.
Martha Hall was trained at Harvard University in its renowned
Graduate School of Education. She further distinguished herself
while undergoing additional training in English as a Second
Language at St. Andrew's University in Scotland. This rigorous
academic background has given Ms. Hall a unique understanding
of second language acquisition and curriculum development. In
sum, Ms. Hall's international experiences have provided her
with wide access to the most innovative and effective teaching
methods. As a result, Ms. Hall remains a tremendous resource
to all students, teachers, and staff at NESE.
